Mothers and Babies 1-on-1 Project in Florida (MB-Florida)
Mothers and Babies 1-on-1 Project in Florida (MB-Florida) was a project, conducted from 2016 to 2018, in collaboration with Florida Health Resources and Services Administration and funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The project evaluated the statewide implementation of the Mothers and Babies (MB) 1-on-1 program through Florida Healthy Start Coalitions and select Florida Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) programs, enrolling 1,229 pregnant women. It aimed to assess Mothers and Babies’ effectiveness in reducing depression among pregnant and postpartum clients in the Healthy Start Program. Additionally, it aimed to understand variables that predict how a train-the-trainer approach—where a mental health clinician provides technical assistance and support for statewide implementation—may be successful in encouraging fidelity and sustainability of Mothers and Babies.
